Join Friends of Johnson County Mental Health Center for our fourth Annual Shine a Light—an evening of inspiration, recognition, and community connection. This signature event brings together individuals, businesses, and organizations to support mental health services in Johnson County. Whether you’re attending, reserving a table, or sponsoring the event, your involvement helps strengthen the network of support for individuals navigating mental health challenges.
This year’s event will feature the Beacon of Hope and North Star Awards, honoring the dedicated advocates and staff who make this work possible. We’re also thrilled to welcome keynote speaker Benjamin Sledge—a decorated combat veteran, award-winning author, and mental health advocate—whose powerful message of healing and resilience will inspire all who attend.
Learn about our sponsorship opportunities in our sponsorship guide. Sponsorships, tables, and individual tickets can be purchased below.
Unable to attend in person? Donations are welcome year-round to support the important work of Friends year-round atfriendsofjcmhc.org/donate.

Event Highlights
Over the past three years, Shine a Light has raised over $200,000 for local mental health initiatives in Johnson County. The funds have been used to support housing, education, treatment access, and other essential needs for individuals served by Johnson County Mental Health Center. We have also been able to better equip and recognize JCMHC employees who serve our community every day.
Community Support in Action
Over 200 people attend Shine a Light annually, including mental health professionals, community advocates and corporate partners who want to see positive change in our community. The event includes dinner, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, two awards presentations, a keynote speaker and an engaging emcee.
